On Friday, Sept. 22, during halftime in the homecoming football game, the king and queen were announced. Following a brief description of each candidate, who was nominated by the South student body, Quevon Purucker (’24) and Tierstyn Kershner (’24) were proclaimed the winners. “I always had a good feeling about this, it finally came true, you know what I mean, I’m glad I won with my girlfriend,” Purucker said. Homecoming is a long time passed down tradition, with the past queen crowning the new one. “Thank you to everyone who voted for me and it’s a great day to be a cougar,” Kershner said.
