On Oct. 21, Salina Central hosted a college planning and career event. With over 40 college, university and military representatives, as well as over 20 local employers looking for future employees. This event is aimed to provide students with valuable insights into college applications and career opportunities.
This event utilizes StriveFair, an app used to share information easily through devices. When a student was interested in a college, the person in charge of the booth scanned the student’s phone and easily received their information. This app was more efficient and less time consuming for both the student and the college.
Students had the opportunity to interact with college representatives from various institutions, gaining firsthand knowledge about different programs and admission requirements. Career counselors were also available to offer personalized advice, helping students to align their academic interests with potential career paths.
“During the event I found the amount of resources and information each college gave was very helpful. They’ve helped me narrow down my choices in the future,” Mariah Garay (‘26) said.
Overall, this event was a resounding success, leaving students feeling more confident, motivated and informed about their future prospects. Upcoming juniors and seniors have a chance to attend this event in the future.
“I would recommend upcoming juniors and seniors to attend this event so they can scope out their options and see what is right for them,” Ella Baird (‘26) said.
