Boys Basketball:
Coaching staff includes Jason Hooper (head coach), Blake Jordan (JV coach) and Ernest Ballenger (freshmen coach). Practices begin on Nov. 18 at the school’s gyms after school.
“There is a camaraderie to being on a basketball team, being a part of something that you know we’re building to try to make great,” Ballenger said.
Boys Swimming & Diving:
Coaching staff includes Dustin Burgardt (head coach), Michael Hair (assistant coach) and Jeremiah Thornton (diving coach). Practices begin on Nov. 18 in the Natatorium, the school’s swimming pool after school.
“It is a lifelong activity and fitness skill that can translate into any other area. Anyone is welcome to the team and we encourage anyone to just give it a shot,” Thornton said.
Girls Basketball:
Coaching staff includes Justin Ebert (head coach), Travis Peterson (assistant coach), Mackenzie Bauer (assistant coach), Daniel Colton (JV coach) and Charlie Lynn (freshmen coach). Practices begin on Nov. 18 at the school’s gyms after school.
“It’s very satisfying to be able to improve in every aspect of the game. Basketball is a sport which is simultaneously very individual and very team based,” Lynn said.
Girls & Boys Bowling:
Coaching staff include Seth White (head coach) and Ryan Schafer (assistant coach). Practices begin on Jan. 7, and will be held at 115 E Ash St, The Alley at 3:20 p.m.
“We have had a lot of success both as a team and individually. The kids all get along and they work on becoming a better bowler,” Schafer said
Girls & Boys Wrestling:
Coaching staff includes Kanean Wendell (head coach), Logan McDowell (assistant coach), Justin Clatterbuck (assistant coach) and Shelby Mann (assistant coach). Practices begin on Nov. 18 and will be held in the school’s wrestling room after school.
“Kids should wrestle or at least try wrestling because the sport offers a lot of opportunity to improve your overall athletic ability, mental and physical toughness, and ability to compete,” Wendell said.
