Drama Club attends Kansas Thespian Festival

Kansas Thespian Festival took place this year on January 5th, 6th and 7th. The first night consists of students competing in thespys, a judged performance that consists of many categories including monologues and stage management. Junior, Emily Streeter, and sophomore, Kaity Geist, both received a superior rating on their Musical Theatre Performance. Senior, Jackie Fischer, did a piece on stage management; senior, Malina Szyndlar, presented costume construction; and junior, Isabelle Greenemeyer, performed a monologue, all of them received an excellent rating. When receiving a superior rating, you qualify for International Thespian Festival. The second day is filled with workshops, this year there was a clown workshop, dancing workshops, SFX makeup workshops and many more. Throughout the day you can attend one acts and every night there is a musical or play, all performed by Kansas high school students.
